Kathy offers black and yellow pups from outstanding FC/AFC lines from Proven working parents with OFA and CERF health certifications, hip and eye guarantees, microchipped, and exposed to birds and water, weather permitting. All litters bred will be Non-Affected for EIC and CNM
With the purchase of a Crosswind puppy, an Erins Edge puppy, or a SugRcreek puppy, you will be eligible to receive two weeks of FREE training with a one month program. This training can be used in the Puppy Course or the Basic Gundog Course. Puppy, Gundog, or obedience training is available for outside dogs and puppies at the full training rate.

Kathy is an outstanding trainer with a complete program of Basics, Transition, and All Age training. She enjoys training the dog and then teaching her Amateur/owners how to handle their own dogs in competition. At Crosswind Kennel the dogs have an enthusiastic training attitude due to the positive training approach of knowing what is right (the Yes) and not just being corrected for doing wrong (the No).Kathy has access to some great training grounds. She uses John Pease's wonderful grounds with all it's hills and intricate water almost daily. She also has access to the MIRC trial grounds.
Kathy limits the number of dogs in training to 6-8 dogs, so making early reservations is suggested.
Puppy Course, Basic Gundog Course, and Handling Gundog Course
If you buy a Crosswind, Erins Edge, or SugRcreek Puppy, you will receive two weeks of free training when enrolled in one of the above courses. You are not obligated to use the free training. This is a $350 value.

Kathy Swab has been training field trial dogs since 1980. She was a trainer/handler at Reo Raj Kennels in Watertown, Minnesota before starting her own kennel. She operated her own "Crosswind Kennel" in her hometown of St. Peter, MN for 6 years before moving to Marshalltown, IA. Kathy ran many field trials, winning and placing in Opens, Qualifyings, and Derbys. She has had several dogs on the Derby List. Her first field trial dog was FC Euripides VII, who became a field champion at the age of 3 and later qualified and ran the 1986 National Open. A year earlier, she and Rip were invited to run the official male test dog for the 1985 National Amateur. Rip retired at the age of 6 due to a torn achilles tendon and was Kathy's backseat truck dog until the age of 16. Rip 1981-1997.
